Himachal CM announces makar sakranti of Brijeshwari Dham as district level festival
Silver Jubilee function of Brahmin Kalyan Sabha organised at Kangra
Dharamshala: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on January 9 announced Makar Sakranti festival of Brijeshwari Dhamin Kangra as district level festival. He was addressing the public as chief guest in Silver Jubilee function of Brahmin Kalyan Parishad in district Kangra, today. He also directed district administration to complete the formalities of lease deed for construction of Parshuram building. He also announced to provide Rs. 21 lakh for the construction of Brahmin Kalyan building in Kangra.
Chief Minister said, “Social organisations play a vital role in conservation of culture and traditions. Social organisations work towards the welfare of the public through various mediums. Discipline and unity are important for social solidarity. State is developing as religious tourism destination.”
Jai Ram Thakur said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Centre Government had enacted Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 for minorities of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh residing in the country. With the abrogation of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir the country has now strengthened.
Earlier, Former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar said, “ India has always believed in ideology of 'Vasudev Kutumbkam.' Awareness is important to shun away social evils from the society.” He said that for development of the country and society, all sections of the society must work in close coordination.
President, International Brahmin Sabha, Pandit Sukhbir also expressed his views on the occasion and Secretary, Brahmin Kalyan Parishad, Gautam Vyathit detailed about the activities of the Parishad.
Earlier, President, Brahmin Kalyan Parishad, Ved Prakash Sharma welcomed the chief guest and detailed about the upcoming programmes of the Brahmin Kalyan Parishad.
