Jalandhar, January 19, 2014: The Border Security Force (BSF) have seized 17 kilograms of narcotics worth Rs 85 crore in the International market from Daoke Border Outpost (BoP) of Amritsar sector on India Pakistan International border.
“The BSF troops deployed on Border in the area of Border Out Post Daoke Amritsar Sector observed some suspicious movement of smugglers along Border Security fence, who were trying to insert a plastic pipe in Border Security fence. Troops challenged the smugglers to stop, but they opened fire upon BSF squad. Sensing danger to their lives troops also fired from there. However smugglers managed to escape back to Pakistan taking advantage of dense fog”, according to a statement issued by BSF DIG (Punjab Frontier), R P S Jaiswal here.
“Immediately the area was cordoned and in the morning search was carried out. During search 17 packets of heroin were found inside a plastic pipe” Jaswal said adding every packet contained one kg of Heroin and their cost in international market was around Rs 85 crore.
