Heroin worth Rs 10 crores recovered by BSF

Ferozepur: The sleuths belonging to 136 Battalion of BSF have recovered 2 kg heroin worth Rs. 10 crores in the international market was recovered near border out post Shameke in this sector. Sources in the BSF said that the consignment was pushed through water channel with the help of water hyacinth (jalkumbhi) from the Pakistani side. Two plastic bottles were used to send the consignment into Indian Territory.
Yesterday also, 1 kg heroin was recovered in a 1.5 litre plastic bottle by the BSF sleuths belonging to 136 Battalion near BOP Old Mohammadi Wala. 
Earlier on May 22, 1.90 kg heroin worth Rs. 10 crores along with a pistol (9 mm), 280 gram opium, one magazine and 5 live rounds were also recovered by the sleuths belonging to 116 battalion of BSF near BOP Gajjal.
Overall 168.593 kg heroin has been recovered by BSF in Punjab this year.
