Hero DMC Heart Institute Organizes Health Awareness Camp at Saras Mela 2025
Hero DMC Heart Institute, in collaboration with the District Administration, Ludhiana, successfully organized a Health Awareness Camp during the Saras Mela 2025, held at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, from October 4-15.

Ludhiana, October 17, 2025: Hero DMC Heart Institute, in collaboration with the District Administration, Ludhiana, successfully organized a Health Awareness Camp during the Saras Mela 2025, held at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, from October 4-15.
This 12-day initiative was a key component of the institute’s flagship programme, “Mission Swasth Kavach,” dedicated to preventive health education and the promotion of life-saving skills among the community.
Saras Mela 2025, was a vibrant celebration of India’s culture, crafts, and cuisines. The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Bishav Mohan, Chief Cardiologist, Hero DMC Heart Institute, and supported by Himanshu Jain, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, and Amarjit Singh Bains, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana. The health awareness camp attracted a large crowd from across the country and served as an impactful platform for promoting public health and wellness.
Visitors from various parts of the country, along with local residents, availed themselves of free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, and participated in hands-on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training sessions, equipping themselves with essential life-saving skills.
The initiative was driven by the active involvement of Dr. Bishav Mohan, Chief Cardiologist, Hero DMC Heart Institute, under the ongoing Mission Swasth Kavach programme.
A total of over 1,210 individuals participated in the free health awareness camp, where they were screened for blood pressure and blood sugar levels. As part of the event, around 1,000 participants — including police personnel, farmers, students, and women — also received hands-on CPR training, learning vital life-saving techniques for emergency situations.
Educational pamphlets and booklets on hypertension and diabetes were also distributed to spread awareness about preventive healthcare and lifestyle management. The nursing staff ensured smooth coordination and accurate health screenings throughout the camp.
Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, commended the medical team for bringing quality health services closer to the community. Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H, appreciated the initiative and stated that such health awareness camps play a vital role in sensitizing the public about preventable diseases and equipping them with essential emergency response skills.
Dr. Bishav Mohan, Chief Cardiologist and Coordinator, Hero DMC Heart Institute, emphasized that such outreach activities not only strengthen preventive health awareness but also empower citizens with life-saving skills like CPR, enabling them to protect their own lives and the lives of others in emergencies.
