A free heart and medical check-up camp being organised by Hero DMC Heart Institute at Nanaksar, Jagraon, near Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, August 25, 2013: A free heart and medical check-up camp was organised by Hero DMC Heart Institute at Nanaksar, Jagraon.

Around 150 patients were examined at the camp by team of specialists from HDHI which included Dr. Rohit Tandon and Dr. Vivudh.

Motive of the camp was to generate awareness among people about common heart problems and their prevention. It is found that heart diseases are more prevalent in rural areas as compared to urban population. High salt intake, Cigarette smoking , lack of exercise etc are major culprits that can lead to heart problems, but these can be minimise if healthy diet is maintained, quit smoking along with regular exercise and Health check up once in a year for early detection of any disease, so that timely management can be done at minimal damage.

Heart problems are very common now a days and it is the leading cause of death in India. These types of free camps allow easy availability and accessibility of health care professionals for the local population especially for those patients who cannot afford time and money for treatment.

All the patients were examined at the camp by specialists and medicines were distributed free of cost to all patients registered at the camp.
