Ludhiana: The Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) team including Dr Arun Mitra, Dr Suraj Dhillon, Dr Gurveer Singh, Anod Kumar and Satbir Singh organized medical camps at two places viz Tikri border and Pakoda Chowk, Bahadurgarh for the protesting farmers. They examined about 500 patients and gave free medicines to them.

As a part of health education Dr Arun Mitra – Sr. Vice President IDPD while addressing the farmers stressed on the need for preventive measures from diseases in this intense summer and the upcoming rainy season. He called upon them to maintain physical distance, wash hands regularly specially before taking food, consume sufficient water in the form of Lassi or lemon water. He advised them to avoid raw food. He also asked them to use mosquito repellents and nets. Each and every life, he said, is precious for the society and the ongoing movement.  He took strong exception to the government’s insensitivity towards farmers health particularly in this COVID period. He appealed to the government to do free immunization.
