Health department observes national de-worming day 

Ludhiana, August 25, 2021: Dr. Kiran Ahluwalia, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana said that under the direction of Health Minister Balvir Singh Sidhu, National De-Warming Day is being observed on August 25 to rid children of stomach worms and make them healthy. 

It was inaugurated by Dr. Ahluwalia, Civil Surgeon, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Cemetery Road. All children between the ages of 1 to 19 years will be given Albendazole tablets.

She said that children between the ages of two to 19 years will be given full tablet and children between the ages of 1 to 2 years will be given half tablet of Albendazole. 

He also informed that in all the government private schools, colleges in the district, the children admitted in the Anganwadi centers would be given slum areas, kilns and 

These tablets to the children from 1 to 19 years of age who have dropped out of school for any reason. 

To carry out the campaign successfully, the cooperation of Education Department, Women and Child Development Department etc. was sought. District Immunization Officer, cum Nodal Officer Dr. Raj Kumar said that this pill should not be given to children on an empty stomach. 

Dr. Kumar said that taking this pill will not cause anemia in the children. 

He also informed that the children who for some reason will not take this pill will be given this pill on September 1.
