Ludhiana, January 9, 2024: All faculty members and staff of Hero DMC Heart Institute fondly remembered with respect the contribution and legacy of former Secretary on January 8, the 15th death anniversary of Prem Nath Gupta.

Prem Nath Gupta, former Secretary of DMC&H Managing Society, who established HDHI in 2001 the largest heart centre in north India. Gupta served as secretary Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana for 23 years and he incorporated many advancements and facilities to the hospital and HDHI was one his greatest accomplishments.

Today HDHI is the largest cardiac centre in the northern region equipped with 190 total beds and 100 beds in its ICCU and 68 beds in general including 16 private rooms, 02 cath labs, 04 operation theatre, facility of ECMO and has a dedicated team of Cardiologist, Cardio thoracic Surgeons and Anethetists. More than 15,000 bypass surgeries have been done in addition to more than, 20,000 percutaneous procedures and 10, 000 pacemakers implanted so far.

Prem Nath Gupta was not only instrumental in setting up Hero DMC Heart Institute but also a driving force behind introducing the most cutting-edge equipment at HDHI.

In remembrance of this day, the family members of Gupta donated 10 lakh to the hospital for poor patients.  All faculty members, staff and patients of DMC&H pay homage to Prem Nath Gupta.
