HAV SUSHIL OF 14 DOGRA WON 1ST INTER SERVICES PARAGLIDING X-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP-2022

Dharamsala: Hav. Sushil of 14 DOGRA won the 1st Inter Services Paragliding X-Country Championship-2022 concluded  at Bir Billing on Tuesday. The second position was captured by Nk. Bhinder Kumar of MH Kargil and third position was achieved by Nb Sub. Ros Kumar Gurung, 58 Gorkha Training Center. Northern Army Commander felicitates Winners of at Bir Billing (H.P)

The first Inter Services Paragliding X-Country Championship was held at Bir Billing (Himachal Pradesh)- the world’s second highest paragliding site at 8000 feet by Dah Division, under the aegis of Army Adventure Wing from 29 Oct to 01 Nov 2022. Teams composed of paragliding pilots from the Indian Army and Indian Navy participated in the competition. The competition generated enthusiastic participation from the paragliding pilots, wherein they demonstrated awe inspiring wing control and accuracy skills coupled with X-Country navigation.

Lt Col Devender Anand PRO (Defence) said that the competition being a first of its kind, provided an excellent opportunity to the paragliding pilots to showcase their paragliding skills under the watchful eyes of some of India’s best Paragliding coaches and umpires. The ability of the Paragliding flight to last many hours and cover large distance is, what is of great importance to the Armed Forces

“This inter services competition will not only achieve synergy among the services but also create a pool of trained Pilots who can also be used for operational tasks behind the enemy lines. The competition has strengthened the bonds of bonhomie between the services reinforcing our commonality & cohesiveness,” said Lt Col Devender Anand.
