Dharamshala: Ex-Home Minster of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile Ms Dolma Gyari applauded the Indian government for the way it is tackling the present situation emerged due to sudden breakout of Corona virus in the country.
Dolma said, “Hats off to the Modi Government for the best and timely initiative in handling the Chinese Corona virus. Considering the magnitude of the population, the diverse social, economic and geographical aspects of the country, the Country is facing the challenges together as one. The Federal Unitary nature of the constitution is upheld even in this Emergency time. I also salute the Indian political parties and states under non BJP governments to go for facing the national challenge together under the Central Leadership.”
The ex-Minister added that the problems  and challenges by the Tibetan Refugees are no different , but Tibetan Refugees living in India , are  fortunate, as all initiative, and reliefs are being  provided to them by different state governments. “At this juncture of time, we stand strong, very much part of the Unified fight of India led by Shri Modijit,” said Dolma.
Dolma in Delhi these days working for Nyingmapa Mahabodhi Charitable Society. She said that this society has accepted the request of the Tibetan welfare officer of Delhi, for using the premises of society in Model Town to be used as a quarantine place. “Hopefully, tomorrow or day after, we should be able to get guidance of the SDM concerned in this matter,” she added
In 2004 Dolma Gyari was appointed by the Dalai Lama to be the Chairperson of the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy taking over from ex Tibetan PM Prof. S. Samdhong Rinpoche. In 2008 she was elected as the Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament in Exile. In 2013 she was appointed as the Home Minister at the Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamsala.
