Haryana’s first Next Gen Post Office launched in MDU
Haryana’s first Next Gen Post Office, equipped with modern technology and digital facilities has been launched today at MDU, Rohtak. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia inaugurated the upgraded post office.
Rohtak, August 12, 2026: Haryana’s first Next Gen Post Office, equipped with modern technology and digital facilities has been launched today at MDU, Rohtak. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Milap Poonia inaugurated the upgraded post office.
The facility will provide students, faculty, employees and visitors with faster, convenient and technology-enabled postal services.
VC Prof. Poonia said the Indian Postal Department has played an important role in the country’s development and stressed the need to modernise postal services in line with changing times. He described the initiative as a significant step towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Rohtak Post Office Superintendent Dinesh Kumar said the Haryana Postal Circle, Ambala, under Chief Postmaster General Manisha Bansal Badal, is undertaking initiatives to digitise post offices across the state. The MDU facility is the first Next Gen Post Office in Haryana under the initiative.
Officials including Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal, Deputy Director of India Post Rohtak Raj Kumar Verma, Director Public Relations Sunit Mukherjee, PRO Pankaj Nain and Assistant Registrar Kanta Hooda were present on the occasion.
