Panipat, January 30, 2026: The Haryana Union of Working Journalists (HUWJ) state unit formed a new district unit at a program held at Arya College, Panipat. An oath-taking ceremony for the office bearers was also organised on the occasion.

 

Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Singh graced the program as Chief Guest. President of Haryana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vinod Dhamija was the guest of honor. Vice-Principal, Arya College Dr. Anuradha presided over the program.

 

Chief Guest SP Bhupendra Singh and Guest of Honor Vinod Dhamija distributed identity cards to the union members. Senior journalists who have made significant contributions to the field of journalism in Panipat were also honored.

 

HUWJ State President, Manmohan Kathuria announced the new executive committee of the Panipat district unit. He informed that Rakesh Bhayana has been appointed as the District President, Saurabh Sharma as the Executive President, Shyam Kamra as the General Secretary, Vikram Kalra as the Treasurer, Arvind Samalkha and Dharmendra as Joint Secretaries, and Gurmeet, Khushboo, Shagun, and Ravi as Executive Committee members. State President Kathuria also provided detailed information about the work being done by the organization for the welfare of journalists.

 

Chief Guest, SP Bhupendra Singh congratulated the newly formed district unit and said that the role of the media in society is extremely important. He said that the media should strive to change the direction of society through positive news. “While the working style of the media has changed over time, the media in Panipat is playing a positive role and guiding society in the right direction,” he added.

 

Guest of Honor Vinod Dhamija extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the members of the newly formed HUWJ district unit, saying that journalists work hard day and night to effectively bring the problems of society to the attention of the administration and the government. Organizations associated with journalists not only protect the interests of journalists but also continuously work for the betterment of society.

 

Dr. Anuradha, Vice-Principal of Arya College, expressed her gratitude to all the guests and journalists. During the program, the union honored senior journalists -Vikas Chaudhary, Ram Mehar Kaushik, Mukesh Tandon, DIPRO Sunil, Police PRO Anil, Kuldeep Rathi (Samalkha), Rakesh Verma, and the media in-charge of Arya College, Dinesh Gahlyan. A large number of journalists, including senior journalists Subhash Bajaj, Lokesh Jain, and Ravinder Saini, were present on the occasion.
