Haryana Police to get ₹980-Crore Modernisation Boost: HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan

Nilokheri/Karnal, September 2, 2026: Haryana will spend more than ₹980 crore over the next two years on modernising its police force, with emphasis on advanced technology, training, discipline and modern resources, Haryana Institute of Rural Development Institute (HIRD) Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan said.
Addressing trainee Assistant Section Officers of the Central Secretariat at the Radhakrishnan Auditorium of the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, Dr. Chauhan said effective implementation of government policies requires officers to understand ground realities.
The trainee officers are in Haryana as part of a five-day training programme jointly organised by HRDI and the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), New Delhi.
The trainees visited the Haryana Police Academy to understand police training, outdoor exercises and modern policing practices. They also visited Bhadsom village, where they inspected the Gram Secretariat, park, three-pond system, Gram Sabha and cremation ground.
Interacting with villagers and officials, the trainees learnt about local governance, water conservation and community participation.
Dr. Chauhan said such field visits help officers develop practical understanding along with sensitivity, accountability and a stronger focus on public interest.
Police Academy officials, including Inspectors Rajbir Singh and Naresh and Sub-Inspector Mukesh, besides HRDI officials and participants, were present.
