New Delhi/Jalandhar, October 1, 2013: Farmers in Haryana have expressed their gratitude towards the Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda for increase in sugarcane price. Sugarcane growing farmers from Palwal and Faridabad districts led by former Minister Karan Dalal today met Chief Minister Hooda at his New Delhi residence and thanked him for taking care of the interests of the farmers.
The Haryana Chief Minister, B.S. Hooda had announced the increase in the price of sugarcane on 26th September, according to which the price of Ageti crop of sugarcane will be Rs. 301 per quintal, of Madhyam crop Rs. 295 per quintal and of Pachheti crop Rs. 290 per quintal. As compared to 2012-13, there will be increase of about Rs. 25 per quintal in sugarcane price in 2013-14, which will add to the income of sugarcane farmers by Rs. 450 crore to Rs. 500 crore.
Karan Dalal said that the Chief Minister Hooda has always been pro-farmer and his government has taken decisions in the interest of farmers and given them more price for their produce as compared to other States.
Those present on this occasion included former MLA Uday Bhan, Sunil Bisla, vice president of Co-operative Sugar Mill, Palwal Pelahad Tewatia, Directors Harendra Bisla, Nasirudeen Khan and Kanwar Pratap Singh, sarpanches of a number of villages, besides hundreds of sugarcane growing farmers.
