The Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda himself reviews the position in the Vigilance and Monitoring Committee concerning Scheduled Castes.
This was stated by Haryana Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Geeta Bhukkal at the National Awareness Camp for Scheduled Castes Empowerment in New Delhi today, which was organised by National Commission for Scheduled Castes.
Bhukkal said that for providing social security to scheduled castes people, Haryana Government has formed Scheduled Castes Commission. Special care is being taken to see that there are no excesses against the members of schedules castes. In case there is any untoward incident, action is immediately taken and efforts are made to provide justice and relief to victims. The laws relating to scheduled castes are effectively implemented in the State.

Bhukkal said that efforts are being made for empowerment of the scheduled castes through various programmes like Right to Education, Dal-Roti Scheme under Food Security Act, by giving 100 sq. yards plots to BPL families, Indira Awas Yojana and MNREGA etc. The students belonging to SCs are giving scholarships from 1st standard.
