New Delhi/Jalandhar, August 26, 2013:  Haryana Industries Minister, Randeep Surjewala has said that with positive and industry friendly policies, astounding infrastructure and road, rail and air accessibility to half the county, Haryana is the natural choice and destination for the industrialists and the investors.

Speaking at the 2nd Invest North Conclave of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi today, Surjewala said that Haryana is the fastest urbanizing State of India, has youngest population largely skill-trained and has peaceful atmosphere. Proximity to Delhi is its strength, but its biggest strength is the capacity of its people to assimilate.

Surjewala said that Haryana has surged ahead of entire country and even many Asian nations in infrastructure creation, growth rate, investment translation and ease of doing business. In spite of being 1.6 per cent of country’s area and 1.19 per cent of its population, Haryana contributes 3.4 per cent of national GDP. Haryana is ahead of other States in per capita investment, per capita income (except Goa) and per capita plan budget. Haryana has been given ‘Krishi Karman Puraskar’ for two successive years by the President of India for highest per capita wheat productivity and per capita milk production.

He said that Haryana’s economy grew at an average growth rate 9.3 per cent during 7 years of Congress rule from March, 2005 to 2011-12. The manufacturing and service sectors contribute to about 83 per cent of State’s GDP. The Plan Budget of Haryana, which was Rs. 2,200 crore in 2004-05 has gone upto Rs. 27,000 crore in 2013-14. With fast growing economy, Haryana invites the industrialists to invest and grow with Haryana, the land of equal opportunities. Haryana is already a home to nearly 1000 national and multi-national companies, he said.
