The indefinite protest by teachers and employees of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV), Khanpur, over pending salaries and the university’s financial crisis ended on Saturday morning after the Haryana government announced the release of ₹43.17 crore in pending funds.

Rohtak/Gohana, August 22, 2026: The indefinite protest by teachers and employees of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV), Khanpur, over pending salaries and the university’s financial crisis ended on Saturday morning after the Haryana government announced the release of ₹43.17 crore in pending funds.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudesh and Registrar Prof. Shivalik Yadav reached the protest site and apprised the employees of the latest financial developments. Following the announcement, the protesting staff unanimously agreed to call off the agitation.
According to the university administration, the released amount will help ensure regular salary payments during the current financial year. The university also informed employees that its demand for a supplementary budget would be placed before the Haryana Assembly during the upcoming Monsoon Session.
Prof. Sudesh urged the employees to work with dedication and actively contribute to the university’s growth. The staff assured the administration of their continued commitment.
Prof. Ashok Verma, General Secretary-cum-Media Spokesperson of BPSMVRFA and BPSMVKSS, expressed gratitude to the state government, university administration, various organisations and the media for their support and solidarity with the movement.

Staff Seek Long-Term Financial Reforms
BPSMV Employees urged the government and university administration to allocate adequate funds in the supplementary budget not only for salaries but also for essential infrastructure. They also proposed forming an expert committee at the university level to monitor and review financial proposals prepared by the Accounts Branch. The administration agreed to the proposal.
