Haryana Govt. appoints Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan as Director, Haryana Rural Development Institute
The Haryana government has appointed Senior Journalist, eminent educationist and former Vice President of Haryana Granth Academy, Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan as the Director of Haryana Rural Development Institute, Nilokheri. According to the order issued in this regard by Dr. Saket Kumar (IAS), Commissioner and Secretary, Development and Panchayat Department, Government of Haryana, Dr. Chauhan has been appointed on deputation basis for a period of next 3 years.

Nilokheri, July 5, 2025: The Haryana government has appointed Senior Journalist, eminent educationist and former Vice President of Haryana Granth Academy, Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan as the Director of Haryana Rural Development Institute, Nilokheri. According to the order issued in this regard by Dr. Saket Kumar (IAS), Commissioner and Secretary, Development and Panchayat Department, Government of Haryana, Dr. Chauhan has been appointed on deputation basis for a period of next 3 years.
Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, while assuming charge as Director, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister Manohar Lal and senior leadership of BJP for his appointment. He said that he is committed to make every possible effort for rural development and to take the rural upliftment policies of the government to the people. He also addressed the public representatives undergoing training at the institute. Dr. Chauhan called upon the women to play a leadership role in politics and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to ensure 33 percent participation of women in Vidhan Sabhas and Lok Sabha, therefore women will have to enable themselves in social and political fields.
Notably, Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. Having more than two decades of experience in the field of journalism and mass communication, Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan’s appointment as Director will play an important role in bringing positive changes in the field of rural development training and policy making.
