Renowned artist "Shehzada-e-Ghazal" Jazim Sharma graced the university with his soulful performances, earning thunderous applause and admiration throughout the event.

Rohtak, November 3, 2025: Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing & Visual Arts (SUPVA), Rohtak, brought together music lovers for a mesmerizing Ghazal evening in celebration of Haryana Day. Renowned artist "Shehzada-e-Ghazal" Jazim Sharma graced the university with his soulful performances, earning thunderous applause and admiration throughout the event.

The auditorium reverberated with poetic charm as Dr. Amit Arya, Vice-Chancellor of SUPVA, warmly welcomed Jazim Sharma and his team. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Arya said,

"On this special day, every person in Haryana should take pride in our glorious heritage and pledge to advance our state further. Remembering our roots and gazing ahead, we celebrate not only our culture but our shared responsibility for the future."

Responding to the Haryana government's official announcement to celebrate Haryana Day from November 1st to 3rd, SUPVA commemorated the occasion by inviting Jazim Sharma to host a Ghazal gathering.

Jazim Sharma’s golden voice filled the evening as he presented his original works along with evergreen ghazals by masters like Jagjit Singh, Ghulam Ali, Mehdi Hasan, and Wasim Barelvi. From Mehdi Hasan’s ‘Rafta Rafta Woh Meri’, ‘Ranjish Hi Sahi’, Ghulam Ali’s ‘Chupke Chupke Raat Din’, ‘Hungama Hai Kyun Barpa’, to Jagjit Singh’s ‘Tum Jo Itna Muskura Rahe Ho’, ‘Hothon Se Chhoo Lo Tum’, ‘Tum Ko Dekha’, and Sufi renditions, every song was met with enthusiastic requests and ceaseless applause. He also performed upcoming Bollywood hits and paid tribute to legendary poets Baba Bulleh Shah and Amir Khusro, giving the SUPVA audience an unforgettable evening.

Introducing the artist, Dr. Amit Arya highlighted Jazim Sharma’s contributions as both a playback singer in Hindi cinema and as an acclaimed ghazal and Punjabi musician, with his journey beginning from the celebrated ‘SaReGaMaPa’ show.

Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha, along with varsity staff and students, were present to honor the guests. At the conclusion, SUPVA’s leadership presented Jazim Sharma and his team with tokens of appreciation.

Throughout the evening, the auditorium echoed with spirited chants of "Jai Haryana, Jai SUPVA." Upon audience requests, Jazim Sharma encouraged the crowd to unite with these celebrations, creating a passionate and memorable atmosphere.

Overwhelmed by the love and admiration, Jazim Sharma expressed, "The affection for ghazals here at SUPVA Rohtak will always remain close to my heart. The boundless love and appreciation I've received tonight simply can't be forgotten.
