Talwandi Sabo, February 25, 2014: Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo is organising Guru Kashi Gyan-Vigyan Khetibari Mela on March 3. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Member of Parliament will inaugurate it at 11 am. The University runs M.Sc (Horticulture) & M.Sc (Agronomy) programmes and therefore, the agricultural development of this area will be given a fillip through this Mela. The theme of this Mela will be ‘Rukh te kukh salamat rakho’.
Dr. J.S Dhaliwal, Chancellor, Gurlabh Singh, Chairman & Dr N.S Malhi, Vice Chancellor of the University will also address the gathering of hundreds of farmers.
Dr. Ajmer Singh Sidhu, Dean University College of Agriculture and Dr. D.R Godara, Convener of the Mela said that besides special lectures on Agriculture, Horticulture, Vegetables and safe agriculture as well as Question- Answer Session, lectures by eminent Scientists will also be delivered on Bee-Keeping, Mush-room cultivation, Agril Machinery, Agro-Processing.
Dr. Sidhu further said that eminent dignitaries are being invited keeping in view environmental pollution, female foeticide, Drug-addiction and some other social activities. Akashwani Bathinda will live broadcast the whole programme.
