Hari Shankar Singhania School of Business Welcomes Third Cohort of MBA in Product Management

Jaipur: Hari Shankar Singhania School of Business (HSB) welcomed the third cohort of its flagship MBA in Product Management through a four-day Orientation Program designed to prepare students for a transformative academic and professional journey.
The program immersed students in the HSB ecosystem, introducing them to the school's distinctive approach to experiential learning, industry engagement, leadership development, and future-focused management education. Through keynote sessions, workshops, team-building activities, academic briefings, and industry interactions, students began building a strong foundation for their MBA journey.
The incoming cohort comprises 40 students representing 12 states across India, bringing together diverse academic, professional, and cultural backgrounds. With approximately 60% of the batch being female and about one-third being experienced, the cohort reflects HSB's commitment to fostering diversity and inclusive leadership.
Addressing the incoming cohort, Dr. Archana Shukla, Director, HSB, highlighted the evolving demands of the business landscape and the growing significance of product leadership. She said, "Business today is being shaped by three forces: data, digital and AI. As a product leader and as a product manager, you need to be well versed with all the dimensions which relate to the product."
Emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of the profession, she added, "Product management sits at the intersection of technology, business, customer understanding and innovation."
A key highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the keynote address by Dr. Noopur Chaturvedi, Managing Director and CEO, NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited. Drawing from her leadership experience in India's rapidly evolving digital ecosystem, she encouraged students to embrace curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Advising students to build strong peer networks and remain lifelong learners, Dr. Chaturvedi remarked, "Product management is all about solving problems."
She further emphasized that future managers must develop comfort with artificial intelligence, cultivate customer empathy, leverage data-driven decision-making, and build the ability to influence teams without direct authority.
The inaugural ceremony also featured addresses from distinguished leaders of JK Lakshmipat University and the JK Organisation. Dr. Vijaya Sekhar Chellaboina, Vice Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University, encouraged students to remain agile in a technology-driven world, embrace emerging technologies, and leverage them to create meaningful impact while staying grounded in strong personal values.
Addressing the cohort, Prem Singh, President, Group HR, JK Organisation, and member of the HSB Governance Council, spoke about the growing significance of product management in India's evolving business landscape and the opportunities emerging at the intersection of technology, innovation, and customer-centric business models. He urged students to use their MBA years to understand their strengths, manage themselves better, and take on difficult assignments. "Your reputation travels miles ahead of you," he said, adding that roles and companies may change, but values and character remain central to long-term growth.
The orientation agenda blended academic preparedness with experiential learning. Students participated in a workshop on "Unlocking Potential" by Dr. Archana Shukla, where she spoke about leveraging one's personality to perform at their best. It also featured interactive learning interventions such as "Unmasking You," "Ignite the Spark," and "One Team One Dream," facilitated by Vibrant Dots, enabling them to develop self-awareness, collaboration skills, and team cohesion.
Recognizing the changing expectations from management graduates, HSB also organized industry-focused workshops. Col. Rajiv Bhargava led a workshop on personal branding, equipping students with insights into professional development, employability, and leadership presence in a competitive business environment.
As India's first full-time MBA focused on Product Management, HSB continues to redefine management education through an industry-co-created curriculum, experiential pedagogy, and deep industry engagement. Supported by the 140-year legacy of the JK Group, the two-year residential MBA program is designed to develop future-ready leaders capable of building innovative products, driving business transformation, and creating sustainable value in a technology-enabled world.
The orientation program concluded with a closing ceremony, group interactions, and a renewed sense of purpose among students as they embarked on their journey to become the next generation of product and business leaders.
