Hand over synthetic track and indoor facilities at Hamirpur to Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association: Anurag Thakur

Dharamshala, October 11, 2018: Anurag Thakur, President Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association said, “ A function will soon be organized to honour medal winners and other participating officials in the Asian Games held at Jakarta, Indonesia. Chief Minister of Himachal Jairam Thakur along with Sports Minister Govind Thakur, will be invited for the same.”
Thakur added that HPOA will request the State Government to hand over the synthetic track and indoor facilities at Hamirpur to Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association, which will be used as a sports academy to impart coaching and training in different Olympic Sports, wherein all the expenditure will be borne by HPOA.
Thakur said here today that these decisions were taken in Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) yesterday in Hamirpur.
He said that Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association is committed to strengthen the culture of sports in the State of Himachal Pradesh. In the past various initiatives have been undertaken to ensure wide participation of children in sports and providing platform to athletes to showcase their talent and the same momentum will be carried in the future too.
