Gurugram University celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at its Sector-87 campus, where Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjay Kaushik unfurled the Tricolour. The ceremony was followed by the national anthem, an NCC and NSS parade, and vibrant cultural performances by students.

Gurugram, August 15, 2026: Gurugram University celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at its Sector-87 campus, where Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjay Kaushik unfurled the Tricolour. The ceremony was followed by the national anthem, an NCC and NSS parade, and vibrant cultural performances by students.
Raising slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, students added to the festive spirit. Addressing the gathering, VC Dr Kaushik said Independence Day was an occasion to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters while reaffirming commitments to the nation’s future.
He said Haryana had played a leading role in education, sports, industry, agriculture and innovation, giving the country a new direction. He added that the university was committed to preparing young people to meet global challenges and become responsible citizens dedicated to the nation.
Registrar Dr Sanjay Arora, Dean Academic Affairs Prof Amarjeet Kaur, Dean Student Welfare Dr Rakesh Yogi, programme coordinator Dr Sonam Bansal and other senior university officials attended the event.
