Talwandi Sabo, October 8, 2015: Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo organied Inter College Basketball and Kabaddi Tournament. Programme was inaugurated by S.Sukhraj Singh Sidhu Managing Director along with, Gen. Sec. Er. Sukhwinder Singh and Dr.Jagpal Singh Pro VC. Dr.Ravinder Sumal, HoD Physical Education welcomed all guests, staff members and participants. Around 200 students from all the constituent colleges of GKU participated the tournament. In the Kabaddi competition (Boys) University College of Physical Education stood1st , Basic Sciences College 2nd and Management College secured 3rd position. Among the girls Kabaddi Management College, Physical College and Agriculture College adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In girls Basketball Agriculture College stood 1st, Physical Education College runner up and Management College declared 3rd. Dr. Kewal Singh, Director Sports and Mr. Het Ram Babbar EO honored the winners with certificates.
S. Sukhraj Singh Sidhu Managing Director, appriciated the efforts of Dr. Kewal Singh and his team and stated that students should participate more actively in the sports event. This will definitely develop their over all personality.
Dr. N.S. Malhi, Vice Chancellor aplauded the efforts of organizers for this competition and also motivated the students to take parts maximum in sports, along with this he also assured about every possible support to the sports person of the University.
During this programme Dr. Ravi Kumar, Prof. Gurdan Singh, Prof. K. P. S Mahi, Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Jaswinder Singh, Prof. Kanwaljeet Singh, Prof. Gurdeep Singh and Prof. Surinder Kaur Mahi did praiseworthy job. S. Gurdev Singh Kot Fatta Admin Officer GKU and his team did all the required arrangements during this event.
