Guru Kashi University celebrates Digital India Week

Talwandi Sabo, July 8, 2015: Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo added another feather to its cap when whole university celebrated the Digital India Week which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched from 1st July to 8th July in the national capital with a view to empower the people of the country through the Digital India Programme. Digital India aims to transform the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy.
Apart from the event here, 600 districts across the country will organise various programmes to sensitise people about the ongoing activities under the Digital India platform. (Guru Kashi University is one of them).
Spoken Tutorial Project is one of the leading and successful projects under NMEICT. One of the leading initiatives taken by IIT Bombay is spoken tutorial project. Through Spoken Tutorial project we are helping students, teachers to get IT¬ Skill through free Software Training in University Campus. This project is sponsored by MHRD, Govt of India and given to all of you through National Mission on Education through ICT.
In this ceremony all the Dean, Directors, other senior officers and all the staff members of the University were present, discussed about the detailed formulation and processing of the Digital India parameters and will practice all same as University will lead this Digital India week very collectively.
Dr. NS Malhi, Vice-Chancellor, GKU, said that with the help of this great initiative our Nation will rapidly move towards developed country and celebration of this week will not only raise the standards of the research activities in any educational institutions but will also serve the society in efficient manner.
Dr B.S Dhaliwal, Dean Academics, Prof. Ashwani Sethi, Deputy Director & Prof. Sukhdevinder Singh Kaura, PRO, personally presented their views on Digital India and thereby making all the staff members and others officials aware about this programme. Prof. Ramandeep Singh did great job to make the event a great success.
