Guest Lecture on Entrepreneurship Mindset

Jalandhar, September 21, 2026: The PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organised an insightful Guest Lecture on Entrepreneurship Mindset to sensitise students towards entrepreneurship, innovation, start-ups with the objective of developing an entrepreneurial mindset among the students, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu. 
The lecture was delivered by internationally experienced entrepreneur, Mick Walvisch from Netherland. He interacted with the students and provided valuable insights for the entrepreneurial journey. He also discussed various aspects of entrepreneurship, including identification of business opportunities, innovative thinking, business planning, risk management, financial resources, digital entrepreneurship and start-up development. Addressing the students, he emphasized that entrepreneurship is not limited to establishing a business; it involves recognising opportunities, solving real-world problems, creating value and contributing to employment and economic development. The students were encouraged to develop creativity, confidence, problem-solving abilities and a willingness to take calculated risks. The session also highlighted the growing importance of start-ups and digital technologies in transforming traditional business models. The speaker shared practical examples and experiences that enabled students to understand the challenges involved in converting an idea into a sustainable entrepreneurial venture. An interactive question-and-answer session was also conducted, during which students actively participated and sought clarification on various issues related to business ideas, start-up funding, market research, entrepreneurship as a career and government support for new ventures. 
Principal, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu appreciated the initiative and stated that such expert-led sessions provide students with valuable exposure to the practical dimensions of business and entrepreneurship. He encouraged students to move beyond conventional career choices and explore opportunities in innovation and enterprise.
Prof. Amita Shahid, Incharge, Department of Commerce, expressed gratitude to the guest speaker for sharing valuable knowledge and practical insights with the students. The department reiterated its commitment to organising academic and industry-oriented activities that enhance students’ professional and entrepreneurial capabilities. 
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Navdeep Kumar, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members and students for their valuable participation and contribution to the successful conduct of the lecture.
