GSTAT Appeals Outreach Programme held to help Taxpayers meet June 30 Appeal deadline
The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), in association with The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), organised a GSTAT Appeals Outreach Programme at the FTCCI Surana Auditorium, Federation House, Hyderabad, to create awareness among taxpayers and professionals on filing appeals before the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) ahead of the June 30 deadline.
Hyderabad, June 25, 2026: The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), in association with The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), organised a GSTAT Appeals Outreach Programme at the FTCCI Surana Auditorium, Federation House, Hyderabad, to create awareness among taxpayers and professionals on filing appeals before the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) ahead of the June 30 deadline.
The programme witnessed over a 150 participation from chartered accountants, cost accountants, company secretaries, advocates, tax consultants, MSMEs, industry representatives, GST practitioners, finance professionals, and business executives.
K. K. Maheshwari, Senior Vice President, FTCCI, giving his welcome note said FTCCI is committed to supporting industry and trade through knowledge-sharing and advocacy. He noted that the operationalisation of GSTAT marks a significant milestone in India’s indirect tax administration by providing an effective and dedicated forum for speedy resolution of GST disputes.
Maheshwari said the outreach programme was organised keeping in view the June 30 deadline for filing GST appeals before the Tribunal. As many taxpayers and professionals are engaging with the GSTAT process for the first time, there is a pressing need for clarity on appeal procedures, statutory timelines, documentation requirements, and the newly introduced e-filing system. He expressed confidence that the programme would help stakeholders better understand the GSTAT framework and ensure timely compliance.

The technical session was presided over by the Members of the GSTAT Hyderabad Bench such as Sushil Kumar Sharma, Judicial Member & Vice President, GSTAT Hyderabad; A.P. Ravi, Judicial Member, GSTAT Hyderabad; and D.K. Srinivas, Technical Member, GSTAT Hyderabad.
The Members provided comprehensive insights into the jurisdiction and functioning of the Tribunal, appeal filing procedures, statutory timelines, documentation requirements, practical challenges, and best practices. They also addressed several queries raised by participants, offering practical guidance on navigating the appeal process effectively.
A special technical session on the GSTAT e-filing portal was conducted by officials of GSTAT Hyderabad. Vivek S. Chandel, Project Consultant, GSTAT-NIC, joined the programme online and demonstrated the e-filing process, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session that clarified several practical issues faced by taxpayers and professionals.

The event concluded with an interactive open-house session, where participants engaged directly with the GSTAT Members and experts to seek clarifications on appeal filing procedures and compliance-related issues.
