Growing a Greener Future: A Meaningful Initiative for Environmental Sustainability

Ludhiana, September 2, 2026: The Eco Club of Ramgarhia Girls College, in collaboration with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Dugri Branch, Ludhiana, organised a plantation activity on the college campus.
The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness among students and encourage them to actively contribute towards building a greener and healthier society. The programme was conducted under the guidance and support of Hardip Singh Mankoo, Branch Incharge, along with the officers and team of Unit-4, LIC of India, Dugri, Ludhiana.
Members of the Eco club and students participated enthusiastically in the plantation drive, highlighting the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality and safeguarding the environment for future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur said, “Education is meaningful when it inspires young minds to take responsibility for society and the environment. Plantation is not merely an activity; it is a commitment towards a sustainable future. By nurturing trees today, we are nurturing the well-being of generations to come.”
The principal appreciated the collaborative efforts of LIC of India and the Eco club in organising the activity and encouraged students to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives. She emphasised that such initiatives provide students with opportunities to translate academic learning into meaningful social action.
