Kolkata, June 23, 2022: Griffins International School, Kharagpur celebrated the 8th International Day for Yoga, with much enthusiasm. Hundreds of students passionately took part in this celebration. The teachers and the non-teaching staffs too participated enthusiastically to make the day a grand success at GIS campus.
 
Demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol 2022 were conducted by the able guidance of Yoga experts of the Sports Department of the school. Active participation of Ruma Mazumder, headmistress, GIS and Abhishek Kumar Yadav, Academic Director, GIS in the Yoga Presentation Session was a great inspiration for the students. 
 
After the presentation of common yoga protocol, the little champions of Griffins International School performed a beautiful medley of yoga asanas under the able trainers. The students also performed 'Anulam- Vilom' , Surya Namaskar and the warm up steps. But the most impactful time was undoubtedly the moment when the Team in White hummed the Om mantra in unison, thereby portraying the unity in diversity in its microcosm.
 
The opening message of the celebration highlighted the benefits of Yoga practice in everyday life.  It also reiterated that 21st of June was proclaimed as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations in 2014 with a record endorsement by 175 member states.
 
Evidently spirited Abishek Kumar Yadav, Academic Director and Chairman, Griffins International School, said,” We are extremely happy to celebrate the International Yoga Day with our students at the school campus after two years. At Griffins International School, Yoga is not just a day for celebration. It is an integral part of our school curriculum. The theme of this year’s International Day of Yoga is ‘Yoga for Humanity’ and our students are geared up to spread this message. We believe that practicing Yoga is the only way to ensure physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. It is not just about exercise. Yoga is a system to discover the sense of harmony with self, the world, and the nature. So, we always put our best effort to create a proper ecosystem to impart adequate training on Yoga for our children.”
