Greenwood High Hosts the 69th National School Games Chess Championship 2025–26
Greenwood High International School, Bengaluru, is proud to host the prestigious 69th National School Games Chess Championship 2025–26, organised by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). The Under-19 Boys & Girls Championship is being held from December 5 to 7, at the school’s Sarjapur campus, which has been transformed into a vibrant arena of strategy, talent, and competitive excellence.
Bangalore, December 5, 2025: Greenwood High International School, Bengaluru, is proud to host the prestigious 69th National School Games Chess Championship 2025–26, organised by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). The Under-19 Boys & Girls Championship is being held from December 5 to 7, at the school’s Sarjapur campus, which has been transformed into a vibrant arena of strategy, talent, and competitive excellence.
This year’s tournament has drawn 32 teams from across the country, bringing together over 300 outstanding young chess players. The grand inauguration ceremony set an inspiring tone for the championship, featuring motivating addresses from school authorities and an impactful message from Chief Guest D. P. Anantha, Vice President of the All-India Chess Federation, who encouraged students to compete with passion, integrity, and focus. In the presence of distinguished dignitaries, coaches, sports officials, and enthusiastic supporters, the national level championship has evolved into a vibrant celebration of discipline, strategic excellence, and youthful determination.
Speaking on the occasion, Niru Agarwal, Managing Trustee, Greenwood High International School, said, “We are honoured to host this prestigious national championship.
