Grand Celebration of International Yoga Day 2025 by NCC Cadets of 3 Punjab Girls Bn NCC

Ludhiana, June 21, 2025: NCC Girl Cadets of Ludhiana celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 with great zeal, discipline, and grandeur on 21st June 2025 at the historic Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School Ludhiana, Govt College for Girls and Guru Hargobind Khalsa College Sudhar.  The event was organized on behalf of Ludhiana NCC GP by 3 Punjab Girls Battalion NCC, Ludhiana. Brig PS Cheema Sena Medal, Vishisht Sena Medal motivated the NCC Cadets by joining them in International Yoga Day Celebration at Khalsa College for Women and Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School. A total of 1000 students and staff including 761 NCC girl cadets participated in the mega Yoga event, making it one of the largest and most vibrant gatherings in the region under the NCC banner. Brig PS Cheema addressed the NCC Girl Cadets and appreciated their training standards and complimented them for initiation into Yoga from today. He further said that “Early morning yoga sets the pace for a successful day and a healthy life”. He further said that “everything begins with an Idea, then Implementation then Improvement and then Integration, so let’s imbibe yoga with four I’s”.

Set against the iconic backdrop of the heritage building of Khalsa College for Women Ludhiana the grand Yoga Sangam commenced at dawn with the assembly of cadets by 6:00 AM. The session formally began at 6:00 AM with a welcome address and a briefing on the importance of International Yoga Day, followed by the Common Yoga Protocol. Certified Yoga instructor Miss Raj led the cadets through a structured 45 - minute Yoga session that included various asanas such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, and Shavasana, along with Pranayama and meditation practices. Prior to that a live address by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was streamed on screen witnessed by att NCC cadets The synchronization and dedication shown by the cadets created a powerful visual symbol of unity, awareness, and inner strength.

Commanding Officer Col R.S. Chauhan, in his address, highlighted the relevance of Yoga in today’s fast-paced life. He stated, “Yoga connects us with our heritage and strengthens our resilience. Our NCC cadets, through this event, are not only spreading the message of health but also becoming torchbearers of Indian culture.” The purpose of the celebration was to spread awareness on the importance of physical and mental well-being and to promote Yoga as an integral part of everyday life. The Principals of Khalsa College for Women Dr Karamjeet Grewal and Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School Mrs Karamjit Kaur joined the NCC Girl Cadets during the Yoga session. Cadet Ridhima Yoga expert assisted the Yoga Instructor.

The event concluded with reflections from the instructors, followed by light refreshments and informal interaction with the cadets. The celebration of International Yoga Day 2025 stood out not only for its scale but also for its discipline, energy, and powerful message of wellness. It reinforced the vital role played by NCC in shaping healthy, confident, and culturally rooted youth.
