Jalandhar, August 11, 2026: Lyallpur Khalsa College leaves no stone unturned for the overall growth and development of its students in academics, sports as well as extracurricular activities.
Keeping this intact, My Bharat NSS volunteer of the college, Jaskaran Singh has been invited by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India as special guest to witness the independence day celebrations of 2026 at Red Fort,
New Delhi. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh congratulated the invitee and opined that hard work is always recognized at the right time. He added that it was the dedication, perseverance and exceptional social work of the volunteer and guidance by his program officers that the ministry has selected him for this big occasion.
NSS Chief Program Officer, Prof. Satpal Singh said that Jaskaran's case is an example that if one devotes his/her time for the community and social causes, he will be acknowledged at state or national level. He informed that during this felicitation ceremony other NSS volunteers, who performed well in the district level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan related events, were also honoured. Jasmeet Kaur stood first in poetry, while Balpreet Kaur and Vanshika won second & third positions respectively.
Moreover, NSS volunteers Pranav Dhamija, Dhruv Anand, Saurabh Kumar, Deepak Kumar and Anmol successfully completed a 04 day residential State Level Youth Development Workshop at Chandigarh organized by Dept.of Youth Affairs, Govt. of Punjab. During this felicitation ceremony, Registrar, Dr. Harjit Singh also blessed the students.
