Governor Gulab Chand Kataria Inaugurates INIFD Expansion
Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, inaugurated the expansion of INIFD, marking another milestone in the institute’s journey of nurturing creative talent in fashion and interior design.
Chandigarh, June 26,2026: Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, inaugurated the expansion of INIFD, marking another milestone in the institute’s journey of nurturing creative talent in fashion and interior design.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Kataria said, “Education is the foundation of a progressive society, and institutions like INIFD are playing a significant role in nurturing creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth. I am delighted to see INIFD expanding its presence to Udaipur. This initiative will provide aspiring designers in Rajasthan with world-class education and industry exposure, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to India’s growing creative economy.”
It was highlighted during the event that INIFD Chandigarh has been shaping the careers of young students in the fashion industry for the past 30 years, equipping them with industry-relevant skills and helping them achieve professional success.
As part of its expansion, INIFD will now extend its educational services in Fashion and Interior Design to students in Siliguri, Gandhinagar, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Anand, Vadodara and Udaipur, providing aspiring designers with greater access to quality education and career opportunities across India.
Founder Director Anita Kaushik said that the nationwide expansion of INIFD Chandigarh was the cherished dream of her late brother, Founder INIFD Ashok Kaushik. She said the institute’s growth into multiple cities is a tribute to his vision of making quality fashion and interior design education accessible to aspiring students across the country.
The event was attended by Founder Director Anita Kaushik, Manav Kaushik, Advocate Bhanu Sharma, along with other distinguished guests. The institute reiterated its commitment to empowering young talent through innovative education, practical training and industry-focused learning, enabling students to excel in the creative design sector.
