Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that organizing the National Conference of Tourism Ministers at Dharamsala would prepare a road map for Himachal's tourism in the times to come.

Dharamshala, September 19, 2022: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that organizing the National Conference of Tourism Ministers at Dharamsala would prepare a road map for Himachal's tourism in the times to come. 

Speaking to the media after inaugurating the second day of the National Conference at Dharamsala on Monday, the Chief Minister said that such an event at Dharamsala would prove to be a milestone in Himachal's tourism. 

He thanked the Prime Minister and the Union Tourism Minister for choosing Dharamsala for this event. 

Thakur said that due to the important discussion on tourism in this conference, many new dimensions will be opened for the tourism of the country. Whatever aspects will come out after the discussion in the conference, it will give a new direction to tourism in the country. The government is also working to develop a new destination to take Himachal forward in the field of tourism. 

He said that along with the new destination, the government is focusing on increasing and improving the road and air connectivity in Himachal. 

He said that recently 2100 crores have been approved from Asian Development Bank ADB, out of which DPRs of 800 crores have been sent. 

The Chief Minister said that Himachal has great potential for tourism. He said that the focus would be on promoting tourism industry so that more tourists could come to Himachal in the coming time.
