Government shall provide houses to all who lost their houses in heavy rain around Dharamsala: CM

Dharamsala: CM Jai Ram Thakur said that the Government will provide new houses to those who have lost their houses in the flash floods or landslides, which hit Dharamsala and surroundings on Monday. He was talking to the media at Gaggal airport (Dharamsala) before proceeding to the Boh area of Shahpur sub division. CM thanked home minister Amit Shah for immediately sending the team of NDRF to Boh. He said, “A village in Boh was severely hit during the heavy rain of Monday. I am sad to hear that a woman has lost her life in this landslide. According to the information, 9 people are still trapped under the debris. We are trying our level best to rescue them. About eight houses are completely destroyed.”

CM reached Gaggal airport of  Dharamsala from Shimla in helicopter today  and said that he has  viewed the affected area from sky before landing here and is visiting the affected area Boh, (50 kms from Dharamsala) ,on ground today, where around 9 people are still feared to be trapped under the heavy debris of land slide.

SP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan said that there has been loss of life due to landslide in Woh- Darini under police station Shahpur. So far, one woman's body has been recovered in relief and rescue operations. Relief and rescue work is going on in this difficult area. It is feared that nine people are trapped under the debris. A NDRF team started the rescue operation yesterday, which has been re- started today.

Four people have been rescued yesterday, while the teams of Home Guards, Police and NDFR and others are involved in the search for the missing people

On Monday Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Dr Nipun Jindal along with SP Kangra  Vimukt Ranjan visited the remote hill area of Boh where  around  seven houses came under the debris of  Landslide in  a village  of  Boh area on Monday  to take stock of the relief work.

GADDI AND GUJJAR WELFARE BOARD MEETING POSTPONED

: A spokesman of the State Government said here today that the meeting of Gaddi and Gujjar Welfare Board to be held on July 14, 2021 at Government College Dharamsala, District Kangra has been postponed. The meeting was to be chaired by CM Jai Ram Thakur.
He said that the next date of the meeting would be informed in the near future.
