Chandigarh, October 16, 2205: Government Home Science College, Chandigarh, successfully organized a Health Mela, providing a platform for free health check-ups and expert consultations to students, staff and the local community. The event was conducted in collaboration with Apollo Clinic, Sector-8, Chandigarh.
As part of the ongoing Poshan Maah celebrations, the Health Mela aimed to promote holistic well-being and create awareness about preventive healthcare. A team of healthcare experts from Apollo Clinic, Dr Palak, Gynaecologist; Dr Akash, General Physician; Dt. Simran, Dietitian along with Dr Mansh, Eye Specialist conducted comprehensive health assessments. Free check-ups such as blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI and eye examinations were offered to all visitors.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic response with over 150 visitors including faculty, students and community members. Attendees received personalized consultations and valuable guidance on women’s health, nutrition and lifestyle management. The Dietitian from Apollo Clinic offered free diet counseling, highlighting the importance of balanced nutrition, individualized diet plans and healthy lifestyle choices.
Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the college, appreciated the healthcare team from Apollo Clinic for their valuable contribution. She encouraged everyone to incorporate the advice shared by health experts into their daily lives and reiterated that the college continually strives to enhance community health through diverse outreach initiatives and awareness programs.
