Government Home Science College celebrated National Girl Child Day

Chandigarh, January 24, 2022: Government Home Science College conducted a host of activities to celebrate National Girl Child Day. The day started with the felicitation of Girl Achievers, Anupreet Sobti (M.Sc. Foods & Nutrition) & Akanksha Rakheja (M.Sc. Human Development & Family Relations) by Principal of the College, Prof. Sudha Katyal to mark the celebrations of National Girl Child Day.  Online Pledge taking , Poster Making Competition, Slogan Writing Competition on the theme ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao was also conducted to celebrate the day with full vigour. Staff of the college also participated in an interesting activity in which they clicked, shared and posted selfies with their daughters on their social media apps. Prof. Katyal emphasized that if we fail to address girls’ differentiated needs and aspirations, a generation will be lost and with it, our hope for sustainable development, prosperity, peace and security will also be lost.
