Good response to Haryana Tourism Badminton Tournament

Panchkula, May 13, 2014 : More than 80 employees of Haryana Tourism took part in the state-level Haryana Tourism Badminton Tournament at the indoor hall of Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Sector 3, Panchkula on Tuesday.

Chakrvrty Sharma, Chairman, Haryana Tourism Corporation, (HTC) inaugurated the tournament in the morning. Sh. Chakrvrty Sharma stated that such initiatives build a feeling of togetherness and bonding among the employees. He further said, “It is great to see the employees showing fervour and zest to take part in this sports event.”

It is for the first time such an event has been organised for the employees of Haryana Tourism in which 27 players took part in the men’s singles category while the women’s singles section had 12 players. There were eight pairs each in the men and women’s doubles event. Six pairs took part in the mixed doubles competition.

Over 150 employees of Haryana Tourism congregated here to be a part of this event. The senior officials of Haryana Tourism Corporation,  Jagdeep Dhanda, H.C.S., GM(A);
 Dilawar Singh, GM,  K.K. Yadav, Chief Engineer were also present on the occasion. Among the organisers were  Ajay Taneja, XEN;  S.B. Munjal, Divisional Manager;  Rajesh Joon, Tourist Officer, Lakeview Huts, Surajkund and Sh. Narinder Sharma, in-charge, Marketing.

Sumita Misra, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation, congratulated all the participants and gave away the prizes to the jubilant winners. The winner of each category won a cash prize of Rs 2100, trophy and certificate while the first-runner up in each category got a trophy along with a certificate.
