Golf Cup 2026 - Fundraiser raises ₹50 Lakhs for children’s education & welfare
On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, ROSE Charitable Trust in association with Rotary Club of Hyderabad Mavericks organized the Aalambana Freedom Golf Cup 2026” at Hyderabad Golf Association, Golconda.
Hyderabad, August 15, 2026: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, ROSE Charitable Trust in association with Rotary Club of Hyderabad Mavericks organized the Aalambana Freedom Golf Cup 2026” at Hyderabad Golf Association, Golconda.
The fundraising tournament saw participation from around 120 golfers, who played wearing Aalambana T-shirts to show solidarity for the cause.
Through this event, the organizers have collected cash and donations worth ₹50 Lakhs. The funds will be utilized for: Aalambana beneficiaries – orphaned children who lost parents to road accidents and suicides across Telangana; Supporting poor college students for their higher education and ROSE Primary Learning Centre students– children up to 5th Std from transient labour families
At the conclusion of the tournament, winners, runners-up and other prize winners were announced and trophies were awarded. The Chief Guest, J. Ramudu, Former DGP, handed over the trophies to the winners.
Prior to the prize distribution, cheques were handed over to two new Aalambana beneficiaries who lost their fathers in road accidents, and to two girls and one boy for support towards their further education.
Jaswinder Birgi, Captain & Guest of Honour, HGA congratulated the Team Aalambana for the successful conduct, dedication, and commitment. He assured continued support for the noble cause.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest J. Ramudu appreciated Team Aalambana’s efforts to help children continue their education and progress in life even after losing the breadwinner of the family. He stated that it is a noble cause and the need of the hour, as many families are suffering due to road accidents and suicides. He pledged his support to the initiative and called upon all kind-hearted citizens to come forward and support the cause.
The event also featured video messages of support from donors including Dr. Guruva Reddy, Justice Lavu Nageswara Rao, Sri Pavuluri Subba Rao and others. They extended their best wishes for the success of Aalambana and assured their continued support to the initiative.
The organizers also announced that the Aalambana Freedom Golf Cup” will be held annually on 15th August as a signature fundraising event to support children in need.
Swing for a Cause received an overwhelming response from golfers, philanthropists and citizens, making it a meaningful celebration of Independence Day.
