Go Blue Campaign for AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) conducted

Ludhiana, November 25, 2021: Dr Veenu Gupta, Professor & Head Department of Microbiology said that ‘Antimicrobial   Awareness Week’ (18th – 24th Nov) was concluded yesterday with ‘GO Blue Campaign’ for AMR. Various activities were organized during the week including poster/slogan competition and quiz for students, awareness session in OPD area for the public, training session for residents on antimicrobial strewship (AMS) and GO BLUE campaign for AMR.
The campaign was launched by Secretary DMCH Managing Society,  Prem Kumar Gupta along  with Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Medical Supdts. Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary and Dr Sandeep Sharma and other faculty members of DMCH.
Department of Microbiology in association with Hospital Infection Control team conducted public awareness session in the OPD block area in which people were sensitized regarding appropriate use of Antibiotics.
PG students were sensitized about the Interpretation of Microbiology culture reports, antibiotic policy and audit. These sessions were conducted by Dr Veenu Gupta (HOD Microbiology), Dr Rajesh Mahajan (Professor Department of Medicine) and by Dr Sandeep Kaushal (Professor & Head Department of Pharmacology & Dean Academics) respectively.
Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Medical Supdt  &  Chairperson Infection Control Committee DMCH appreciated the efforts of organizing team for conducting such awareness week.
In his message Dr Sarit Sharma, Professor Department of Community Medicine & Admin In charge Infection Control Committee DMCH said that   it is advisable to general public, don't take any antibiotics without the prescription of your doctor, take the prescribed dosage and complete the entire course of the treatment.
