GNDEC  holds 2nd International Conference on Research and Innovations in Mechanical Engineering (ICRIME2017)

Ludhiana, December 22, 2017: In the chain of multiple technical events being organized by the department of Mechanical Engineering, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana the three day 2nd International Conference on Research and Innovations in Mechanical Engineering (ICRIME2017) to be held from December 22-24, was inaugurated today. This conference is in collaboration with CSIR, India, The Institution of Engineers (India),IE & OM Society, USA, IIIE, Navi Mumbai and CSIR-CMERI COEFM, Ludhiana. The chief guest for the event was Dr H.S.Bains, Director, GNDU, Regional Campus, Jalandhar who appreciated the amalgamation of research and innovation. Dr.Harwinder Singh presented a key note address. Many research papers compiled by researchers and academicians from India and abroad were received, out of which 50 research papers are shortlisted for presentation. Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK are publishing the proceedings of the conference. Selected research papers will also be published in the reputed journals. There are six parallel sessions for paper presentation. Each session is being chaired by eminent researcher/academician. Researchers from England, USA are participating n the conference. A student contest for new innovative ideas and mentoring sessions for researchers was also be held alongwith the conference. The students session was chaired by Dr. Arvind Dhingra. In this session the students presented their views on various new technologies in the area of mechanical engineering.

An Industrial Expo on India Machine Tools & Automation expo which is being organized in association with Paramount Exhibitors was also inaugurated by S.Maheshinder Singh Grewal. He appreciated the efforts of the college in organizing such an event. Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal said that the display in exhibition shall propel the young upcoming engineers to come abreast with the latest technologies in the industry. In this exhibition many well reputed national and international companies are putting up their stalls for display of latest technologies. The exhibition will be open to public for all four days starting from 22nd December, 2017. There is NO entry fee for the visitors.
The objective of all these events is to bring renowned academicians, professionals, industrialists and researchers on a common platform for sharing their views related to the theme of the conference, Industrial Expo and seminar. Especially, Industrial City, Ludhiana is expected to be greatly benefitted from these events. Dr.P.S.Bilga, HOD, Mechanical thanked the guests for their gracious presence.
