Jalandhar, October 8, 2018: Faculty of Hospitality at GNA University organized one-day workshop on “Plated Bakery Desserts”. Bakery Expert Chef Hitesh Shakya from Hyatt Regency Chandigarh showcased his bakery skills amongst students. Chef Varinder Singh Rana, Deputy Dean-Faculty of Hospitality welcomed the resource person and mentioned that the demand of Bakery products are the first choice for people palate.
More than 75 students of Faculty of Hospitality actively participated in the workshop. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor GNA University Prof. V.K. Rattan and Registrar GNA University Mr.Narendra Awasthi also showed their presence and appreciated the one of its own kind concept of Plated Bakery Desserts.
Chef Hitesh Shakya demonstrated the preparation of various classic and modern plated desserts such as Sticky Toffee Pudding, Crème Brule ,Tres-Lesches Cake, Coconut Quindim and Mango Mascarpone Bavarian. He whole heartedly explained the origin of the desserts, principles of baking, placements and balance in plating of Desserts.
The students were given hands on training on some of the artistic work under Chef’s expert guidance. They emphasized that events of such kind should take place now and then as it brings out the creative instincts of the students.
S. Gurdeep Singh Sihra appreciated the efforts of Faculty of Hospitality and encouraged students to take maximum inputs from such workshops. He encouraged Team FOH for organizing such workshops for the better employability at international level.
Chef Paramjeet Singh, Chef Bhupinder, Chef Ashish Raina, Chef Sonu also graced the occasion with their benign presence.
