GNA University organized a 36-hour long “GNA Hackathon 1.0”. This 36-hour non-stop mega event witnessed 150+ teams with around 450+ students from more than 50 Universities/Institutions from India to showcase their skills and developed technological methods for the benefit of society.

Jalandhar, December 6, 2022: GNA University organized a 36-hour long “GNA Hackathon 1.0”. This 36-hour non-stop mega event witnessed 150+ teams with around 450+ students from more than 50 Universities/Institutions from India to showcase their skills and developed technological methods for the benefit of society.

The Inaugural Ceremony was held and students, domain experts as Mentors, senior professionals from IT industries showcased their presence as judges. Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Dean – Faculty of Engineering Design Automation (E) and Faculty of Computational Science highlighted the importance of Hackathon. He expressed innovation means to do different things and doing things differently. He formally welcomed all the participants from various parts of the state and appreciated the active participation of the students. 

The inaugural session also comprised of 5 expert sessions including Ist Session on Angular Technology by Gurpreet Singh, Director – GTB Infotech, IInd Session was delivered on React Technology by Rohit, Developer, Chic Mic, Chandigarh. IIIrd Session was on Node JS by Gaurav Sharma, Sr. Project Manager, O7 Services, IVth Session was delivered on Android Development by Shubham Sharma, Developer, Bebo Technologies. The last session was commended by Shaina, Assistant Professor, GNA University on Web Framework. The objective of all these sessions was to enlighten about the latest technologies for Web and Application Development in IT Sector.

During the event, the energy and enthusiasm portrayed by one and all was contagious and overwhelming. This unique event encouraged many young minds to convert their knowledge into skills that would resolve many crucial challenges faced by our country. Shubham Kumar, Ritik Kumar, Manan Sehgal and Ankush from GNA University bagged the Overall Trophy and a Cash Prize of Rs.11,000/-, Team from DAVIET bagged the second prize of worth Rs.5100/- and again Team of GNA University bagged the third prize of Worth Rs.3100/-, consolation prize also been given to GGI Khanna Team.

Gurdeep Singh Sihra, the Pro – Chancellor, GNA University congratulated all the winners, participants and organizers of GNA Hackathon 1.0. He briefed about this event as the beginning for providing solutions to make a better future and appreciated the students that they should take pride in being a part of this grand event and wished all the participants a great success.

Dr.V.K. Rattan, the Vice–Chancellor, GNA University appreciated all the participants for taking up societal problems as a challenge and striving hard for its solutions in a stipulated time frame which helps them for future growth when they work in similar environment. 

Dr. Hemant Sharma, the Pro Vice-Chancellor thanked the management for providing an open platform for the students. He also thanked the Organizers of the Event, Dr Anurag Sharma, Professor and Dr Hitesh Marwaha, Associate Professor for organizing such a great event and ensured all the participants that such events will be planned in future also to promote development and industry activities.

Dr. Monika Hanspal, Dean Academics, GNA University interacted with the participants, and highlighted the significance of Hackathon 1.0. She emphasized that Hackathon has proved that the students are ready for industry as they have solved big problems of society by handling them smartly.
