GLADA Launches “Buyer Be Aware Campaign” Against Defaulter Colonisers, Recovers ₹52 Crores
After receiving many complaints from the buyers that they purchased plots in colonies which are unlicensed and faced many problems including registration, basic sanitation services, approval of building plans etc., GLADA has started “Buyer Be Aware Campaign” alongwith strict action against defaulter colonisers. GLADA has recovered approximately Rs. 52 crores from defaulting colonizers during the last six months through campaign mode.
Ludhiana, February 23, 2026: After receiving many complaints from the buyers that they purchased plots in colonies which are unlicensed and faced many problems including registration, basic sanitation services, approval of building plans etc., GLADA has started “Buyer Be Aware Campaign” alongwith strict action against defaulter colonisers. GLADA has recovered approximately Rs. 52 crores from defaulting colonizers during the last six months through campaign mode.
However, some colonizers failed to deposit the payable Government dues/fees within the stipulated time and now, GLADA, in accordance with the provisions of the PAPRA Act and the applicable rules/policies of the Government of Punjab, has initiated legal proceedings against the defaulting promoters for recovery of the outstanding dues. Under these proceedings, action shall be taken to mark lien in favour of GLADA on their properties and to initiate attachment/seizure of movable and immovable properties. Further, public notice boards indicating the outstanding dues and restrictions on registrations shall be displayed outside the concerned colonies as well as at the GLADA office.
It is also informed that registrations/Power of Attorney in respect of the colonies of defaulting promoters have already been restricted. Further, recovery proceedings have been initiated through the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, for recovery of the outstanding dues as arrears of land revenue under the relevant provisions of law.
Colonizers who are willing to deposit the outstanding dues against their respective colonies may coordinate with this office and deposit the balance amount at the earliest. Failing which, proceedings shall be initiated against the defaulting colonizers under the relevant provisions of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995 (as amended from time to time), including initiation of criminal action/FIR as per law.
All citizens/general public are also hereby cautioned and advised to exercise due diligence before purchasing, selling or entering into any transaction with respect to any plot/property in the defaulted colonies. GLADA shall not be responsible for any financial loss or consequences arising out of such transactions.
