GLADA demolishes four illegal colonies on Ludhiana-Dhandra Road

Ludhiana, March 2, 2023: The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) on Thursday demolished four illegal colonies in two villages Dhandra and Mehmoodpura. 

On the directions of Chief Administrator GLADA Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, a spokesman said that notices were also issued to these unauthorized colonies under section 39 of PAPR Act 1995 (amended-2014). He said that a special demolition team led by Estate Officer (Regulatory) GLADA Dr. Baljinder Singh Dhillon, four SDOs Suraj Manchanda, Divleen Singh, Aditya Rattan, Jatinderpal Singh along with four JEs including Rohit Goyal, Sangharsh Veer Singh, Veerpal Singh, Amandeep Singh carried out the drive. He said that the demolition drive was planned by Additional Chief Administrator GLADA Kulpreet Singh. He said that GLADA was also planning more demolition drives in upcoming weeks. 

The Chief Administrator GLADA appealed to general public not to purchase property/plots/buildings in unauthorized colonies as GLADA will not provide any facility like water supply, sewerage, electricity connections, street lights etc.
