GLADA crackdown on illegal colonies, demolishes unauthorized constructions
Acting on the directions of Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and GLADA Chief Administrator Ojsavi Alankar, the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) intensified its enforcement drive against unauthorized colonies and illegal constructions across Ludhiana district.
Ludhiana, May 25, 2026: Acting on the directions of Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and GLADA Chief Administrator Ojsavi Alankar, the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) intensified its enforcement drive against unauthorized colonies and illegal constructions across Ludhiana district.
During the operation, GLADA demolished five unauthorized colonies located at Dehlon, Jaspal Bangar and Uchi Mangli. The authority also took action against 12 unauthorized buildings and illegal constructions in areas including Bhairomuna, Gill, Jandiali, Jaspal Bangar, Kohara, Kohara near Sanghu Palace, Ludhiana-Malerkotla Road near Marado Chowki and Tibba.
In addition, reports regarding 20 unauthorized colonies were forwarded to the concerned tehsildars in villages such as Churpur, Daad, Kanjia, Manakwal and Threeke for further revenue and legal proceedings.
GLADA Additional Chief Administrator Vikas Hira appealed to the public not to purchase plots or buildings in unauthorized colonies and advised residents to verify the approval status of colonies and projects through the official GLADA website before making any investment or property purchase.
