Ludhiana, February 20, 2026: In line with its commitment to provide basic infrastructure and improved living conditions to residents of regularized unauthorized colonies, the Housing and Urban Development Department, Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) has commenced road repair work in Green Avenue Colony, Village Daad.
The project, with an estimated cost of approximately Rs 17.76 lakh, is scheduled to be completed within the next three months. The initiative aims to significantly enhance connectivity and convenience for the local residents.
Under the Punjab Government’s policy for regularization of unauthorized colonies, No Objection Certificates (NOCs) are issued to eligible plots and buildings in accordance with prescribed norms. The revenue generated through these NOCs is directly channelized towards essential development works in the respective colonies, including construction and repair of roads, installation of street lighting, and provision of water supply and sewerage facilities.
GLADA officials confirmed that repair work in Green Avenue Colony has already begun. Similar pending cases currently under consideration at the GLADA office will also be taken up shortly on priority basis to ensure that residents across such colonies face minimal inconvenience and benefit from timely infrastructure improvements.
