GJU (Men's) Team wins the All India Inter-University Circle Style Kabaddi Championship

Dr. Amit Arya, Vice-Chancellor of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, attended as the Chief Guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the ongoing All India Inter-University Circle Style Kabaddi Championship (Men's Category), held at the Maharana Pratap Stadium of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJU). The event was presided over by the GJU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi.

Hisar, April 5, 2026: Dr. Amit Arya, Vice-Chancellor of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak, attended as the Chief Guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the ongoing All India Inter-University Circle Style Kabaddi Championship (Men's Category), held at the Maharana Pratap Stadium of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJU). The event was presided over by the GJU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi.

Extending his congratulations on the successful organization of the event, Chief Guest Dr. Amit Arya remarked that the players demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition. Furthermore, he noted the visible presence of discipline, patience, and dedication among the participants. He said that the field of sports currently offers immense opportunities, and players can build a successful future for themselves by choosing a sport that aligns with their interests.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi emphasized that sports foster not only physical development but also mental growth. He added that consistent participation in sports instills self-confidence in athletes. He urged the players to make continuous efforts to achieve their goals.

On the fourth day of the competition, the first session of the women's category was inaugurated by Dr. Darshana Dahiya, a gold medalist in both National and Circle Style Kabaddi. She interacted with the players on the field and extended her best wishes for their bright future.

Meanwhile, the GJU men's Kabaddi team clinched the championship title and won the gold medal by defeating the MDU, Rohtak team 37-31 in the final match. The GJU men's team secured 6 points on the points table and did not concede a single point throughout the entire tournament. The teams from CRSU, Jind, and CDLU, Sirsa, tied with 2 points each on the points table to jointly secure the third position in the competition.

In the women's category, the team from CCS University, Meerut, defeated the team from Bhagwant University, Ajmer, by a score of 26-22 in a closely contested match. The team from LNIPE, Gwalior, routed Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan, by 30-9 in a one-sided contest. The GJU Kabaddi team outscored the team from Gondwana University, Gadchiroli (Maharashtra), by a margin of 7 points. PU, Patiala, defeated IGU, Meerpur, by 18 points; Marwadi University, Rajkot (Gujarat), defeated CCS University, Meerut, by 20 points; LNIPE, Gwalior, defeated Raja Pratap University, Aligarh, by 11 points; Marwadi University, Rajkot (Gujarat), defeated PU, Patiala, by 13 points; and PU, Chandigarh, defeated Singhania University, Jhunjhunu, by 16 points. 

Present on the occasion were Dean of Sports Prof. Ashish Agarwal, Sports Director Dr. Shashi Bhushan Luthra, and Assistant Sports Director Mrinalini Nehra, along with other dignitaries, students, and sports enthusiasts.
