At the Khela Mela inter-school sports competition, which took place in Punjab, Mohali’s leading school, Gillco International’s students won several medals and brought laurels to the school. An 8th Standard student, Mannat Dhanoa received a gold medal and won a cash award of Rs 10,000 in the U-17 CATEGORY in State Basketball Championship. The competition was held at Barnala from 15 September to 17 September 2022.

In the continuation of the winning series for Gillco International, Prabhnoor Singh, a 10th Standard boy, secured a gold medal along with a cash prize of rupees 10.000 at the State level Table Tennis competition in U-17 CATEGORY held on 7 October 2022.

A fifth grader, Simreet Kaur earned two medals, a gold medal and a silver medal at the Punjab Roller Skating Association’s State level Punjab Roller Skating Championship held at URSC Dehlpur, Mohali. The competition lasted from 7 November to 9 November 2022. Her performance led to her selections for nationals which are slated to take place in Bangalore from 11-22 December.

Commenting on the spectacular performance of Gillco students at the Khela-Mela 2022, Ruchi Sharma, Principal, Gillco International School, said, “I congratulated the winners and the Sports Department for bringing out the best in them. Gillco International School has always been promoting a sports-friendly atmosphere and training centres for students to get adequate infrastructural support and essential types of equipment for intensive training and workouts. Fitness is a prerequisite to performing in these kinds of physically challenging sports and games. I want to extend my wishes to Mannat Dhanoa and Prabhnoor Singh. I would like to say all the best to Simreet Kaur, who has qualified for nationals in the Roller Skating Championship.”
