The Rangoli design's central theme
Visual artist Abhishek Rathi has designed the Rangoli around the central theme of India’s cultural heritage, spiritual strength and its journey towards development and progress.
Inspired by the Konark Sun Temple wheel, the design uses its spokes to symbolise government schemes driving national development. Nataraja represents energy and movement, the Kamal (lotus) signifies renewal, and Goddess Chandi Devi's eyes with a jet symbolise Operation Sindoor. The Shivling represents spiritual strength, while Chandigarh’s iconic open hand, Punjab’s Phulkari and Haryana’s Sanjhi reflect regional identity and cultural diversity.
